A standout moment for me at the 2014 Olympia in Las Vegas was the opportunity to photograph elite physique competitor Dana Linn Bailey. In the realm of female athletes in this sport, few are as prominent as she is. This American athlete has made history by becoming the first-ever women’s physique IFBB Pro and subsequently being crowned the inaugural Ms. Physique Olympia at last year’s event.

Her influence on the sport has already been substantial, making it a remarkable experience to be in the front row, capturing the Women’s Physique Showdown during the 50th Anniversary Olympia Weekend at the Orleans Arena and Las Vegas Convention Centre.

The Olympia represents the zenith of bodybuilding, showcasing extraordinary physiques, yet Bailey’s condition was truly astonishing. While she presents a lean and muscular silhouette, she also exudes a sleek and feminine presence on stage, delivering an impressive performance.

Bailey competed against the equally formidable Juliana Malacarne for the 2014 title. Ultimately, it was not her year, as she was narrowly placed second by the Brazilian beauty Malacarne.
